Network
EU-funded research projects, scientific societies, and a growing network of international collaborators advancing organ-on-chip technology.
Our Global Network
Collaborations spanning Europe and beyond — hover over markers to explore our partners.
Research Projects
EU-funded consortia coordinated by the MiMic Lab, developing breakthrough organ-on-chip technologies for precision medicine and drug discovery.

PHOENIX
Horizon Europe2025–2028 · CoordinatorPrecision Human Organs-on-chip for Enhanced Neuro-muscular and Cardiac Studies
PHOENIX aims to revolutionise biomedical research by developing the next generation of human-based Organs-on-Chips. Two platforms will be developed: μHeart, to model functional cardiac tissues, and μNMC to model neuro-muscular circuits — both integrating real-time electric recording, force sensing, and mechanical stimulation.

BuonMarrow
EIC Pathfinder Open2024–2027 · CoordinatorBone Marrow-on-Chip as smart sensor of lung cancer relapse
BuonMarrow will develop an in vitro miniaturized bone marrow device able to harness the amplified BM-MSC response generated by liquid biopsy of lung cancer patients, acting as a biological sensor for the early detection of cancer relapse.

SINERGIA
H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN2019–2024 · CoordinatorAdvanced technologies for drug discovery and precision medicine: in vitro modelling human physiology and disease
SINERGIA was an Innovative Training Network that trained 15 early-stage researchers across Europe in organ-on-chip technologies, advanced in vitro modeling, and precision medicine — building the next generation of OoC scientists.
AI-RITMIA
EIC Pathfinder Open2026–2029 · CoordinatorAI-assisted personalized heart-on-chip as advanced diagnostic tool for clinical significance assessment of inherited cardiomyopathies
AI-RITMIA will develop an unprecedented AI-guided patient-specific heart-on-chip diagnostic tool, interfacing in vitro modeling, in silico simulation, and AI-based data handling to enable unbiased correlations of clinical outcomes for patients carrying unclassified genetic variants.
Societies & Spin-off
Scientific communities shaping the organ-on-chip field and the MiMic Lab's own technology venture.

EUROoCS
European Organ-on-Chip Society
An independent, not-for-profit organization established to encourage and develop Organ-on-Chip research across Europe. Marco Rasponi has served as Chair of EUROoCS since July 2025.
